Enjoying the sunny weather on Sunday, I went to the Shoreham Airport Motorshow and en route I took some photos at Ropetackle, specifically of the tower and modern art “trees”. I’ve gone through them now and uploaded them to my new flickr account. I’ve put them below, but without any captions. But as usual you can click for a bigger version with a caption etc…

Shoreham Airport Motorshow Review
In my previous post about the Shoreham Airport Motorshow, I went through how I managed to get 2 free tickets to the Shoreham Airport Motorshow, which was held over the last weekend (4th and 5th of August).
Unfortunately I couldn’t go on the Saturday, so I had to go on the Sunday instead. I woke up on the day to find brilliant blue skies, perfect weather for being outside all day. I walked along to the Motorshow via Shoreham town centre and Adur Rec to enjoy the sunshine while it lasted. On the walk through the town I noticed that the Motorshow was well signposted from the coast road.
The Motorshow was well signposted from major roads.
When I got to the Airport, I could clearly see the Motorshow at the top end of the Airport in the top corner. For those who did want to go to the Airport and the Motorshow, there was a minibus service every 15 minuites between the Terminal Building and the entrance to the Motorshow. However I decided to walk up to the top, when I got to the entrance there was a small queue to get into the car park, But it was moving quite rapidly, so nobody was really waiting too long.

At the entrance you had to pay the entrance fee to get in, quite reasonable at just 3 for adults and kids under 14 (as long as they were accompanied) were free entry. There were free programs for the Motorshow and also leaflets promoting the Airshow. Once inside there were plenty of stands to view the wide range of cars at. There was also a licensed bar as well as hot food and ice cream for refreshments.
There was plenty to view and keep you entertained between the events in the main arena which occurred every 40 minuites, with most of the major local dealers represented. It did look like they had brought along a large selection of cars for people to view, along with a load of special deals for customers at the Motorshow.
Someone left their arena presentation sheet lying around.
However, Quentin Willson didn’t turn up at the show due to Ill Health apparently. But his slot was filled by another former Top Gear presenter Chris Goffey, who did do well in introducing all the vehicles and talking about them.
It was a good Motorshow all in all, entertaining and it had good weather for it. I did take more photos and they are all here:

For some reason the Motorshow was being recorded, I am not sure why however.
No Motorshow is complete without a look under the bonnet….
….and inside the car.
A car which had the attention of most of the male visitors of the day.
No Motorshow would be without some cheeky slogans.
Cars from various dealers all lined up in a row.
Its not all about cars at Motorshows though….
….as there were plenty of jet skis on one stand.
The Fiat dealership even brought a fountain with them for their corporate motor home.
The Fiat fountain and motor home.
Motorbikes also made an appearance with a stand for Triumph.
All in all, I would say a good show, good value for money. 8/10
